Um Abwechslung in die Missionen zu bringen, gibt es drei sehr unterschiedliche Spielstile: Panther, Ghost und Assault. Bei Panther dreht sich alles darum, Feinde lautlos zu erledigen. Wenn Sie Assault spielen, können Sie nach Herzenslust um sich schießen. Mit Abstand am schwierigsten ist Ghost, denn hier muss Sam Fisher durch alle Levels schleichen, ohne entdeckt zu werden. Das Spiel belohnt die Spieler dafür, dass sie den gewählten Spielstil meistern, Außerdem gibt es zur Belohnung Punkte (und Achievements!), wenn man brilliert.
